Is the Gitit ring safe for dogs?
Gitit rings are 100% safe for dogs. Rings are made of a food-safe, non-toxic, BPA-free material. Reminder: Gitit is a fetch toy, not a chew toy. Dogs should not be left unattended with the ring. If pieces happen to be chewed off, Gitit suggests discarding and purchasing a replacement ring.

What makes Gitit so unique?
Gitit is unlike any other fetch toy on the market today. Gitit goes fast and far due to the highly flexible shaft and engineering of the launcher which creates tremendous topspin and velocity upon release - up to 250 ft. Also, Gitit has a set of exterior flanges on the ring we call “wings”. These wings allow you to step on the ring with out foot to stand it up straight then load it into the launcher without every touching the ring. As with any dog related game, toys often accumulate lots of unwelcome materials during play.

Gitit is engineered to generate incredible topspin and tremendous acceleration to a uniquely designed rubber ring.With a flick of the wrist, the Gitit launcher sends the flexible ring racing along the ground at high-speed producing unexpected leaps and bounds that tap into a dog’s natural predator-prey pursuit instinct.
Ball tossers launch a ball high into the air. Dogs have difficulty sometimes locating the ball and have to wait until it lands with a plop to go and retrieve. By that time, the ball is lying still in the grass.
With Gitit, the ring runs ALONG THE GROUND at high speed. Dogs see it immediately and turn to chase it at full speed as it races and hops away. Dogs don’t want to retrieve stuff. Dogs WANNA CHASE THINGS!!

Why is the Gitit ring blue?
Dogs see color much differently than you and me. They see certain ranges of yellow and blue very well, but the remaining colors of the spectrum are dulled and appear in a muddied tone.
Ophthalmologist Jay Neitz, then at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his colleagues discovered that canines could see blues and yellows but not reds and greens. This may explain why dogs prefer blue and yellow toys over toys of different colors.
The American Kennel Club also did an extensive study and concluded that dogs are able to distinguish blue and yellow more easily and thus are more interested to chase because they can see it clearly against any background.

What are the materials?
The Gitit launcher is made from polypropylene which ensures maximum flex while never losing its shape, despite the conditions (heat, cold, wet, etc.)
And the Gitit ring is thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). TPE’s are a family of rubber like materials that combine the characteristics of rubber with the recyclability and processing advantages of plastics. TPE delivers the durability needed for any serious dog toy along with the performance qualities required - highly flexible for maximum bounce action.

What if my dog is an extreme chewer?
Gitit is a fetch toy, not a chew toy. Supervised play is highly recommended at all times. The Gitit ring was specifically designed to prevent (as much as possible) dogs from being able to gnaw on and bite off any parts.
However, we understand that certain breeds and dog personalities are heavy chewers and require an ultra-tough ring material. So, Gitit will be introducing a “heavy chewer” ring to the market in the very near future. We are working with the design and manufacturing team to formulate the perfect material that will allow for both high performance and extreme durability.

How many days until my Gitit arrives?

What can I do to get my dog to drop any toy he/she retrieves?
The best method for getting a dog to drop a fetch toy is to always carry another toy with you as a distraction. This does not have to be another Gitit ring but can be any ball or other small fetch toy that you can keep with you in your pocket or pack. Best to keep it hidden until it is absolutely required.
Some dogs will see the decoy toy and immediately drop the Gitit ring. Try and allow your dog to get as close to you as possible before showing them the decoy.

Will Gitit ship to anywhere in the world?
Unfortunately, due to the logistical difficulties around taxes, local delivery rates, duties, and other requirements issued by specific countries, Gitit will be shipping to a limited number of international locations: Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
